The Trout Unlimited mission is to conserve, protect and restore North Americas trout and salmon fisheries and their watersheds. Our chapter goal, simply, is
to improve the local habitat to maximize its potential. We do this by working
closely with the CT DEP, the
Army Corps of Engineers local government officials, as well as other local
organizations. |

We as a chapter have been in existence since 1963, serving the Northwest corner of CT. Our primary area of focus is the upper Housatonic watershed. This includes a special interest in the Naugatuck River which was once so polluted it virtually supported no life. Today, the upper Naugatuck is home to numerous species, including native brook trout and wild brown trout.
